Past …

EVERY LAST SATURDAY OF EACH MONTH, Our members participate in the public “Umuganda – Community Work” and support in protecting the environment, cleaning up the cities, planting trees across Rwanda….among many other activities.

The following are some of the projects and actions that we implemented in the past, including our past achievements:

 

2013:

  1. WORLD WATER DAY YOUTH ACTION held on March 21, 2013

  2. Presentation of RYACA achievements at the 3RD CLIMATE CHANGE AND DEVELOPMENT IN AFRICA (CCDA) organized by ACPC, UNECA and the African Union Commission held from 21 – 23 October, 2013 in Addis Abbaba, Ethiopia.

 2011:

  1. MOVING PLANET ACTION held on September 24, 2011 in collaboration of the Rwandan Ministry of Youth and ICT’s Kimisagara Youth Productive and Employment One Stop Center (Maison de jeunes de Kimisagara)

  2. Rwanda Youth Participation in the AFRICAN YOUTH CARAVAN FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE (traveling through 7 African countries and all the way to Durban in South Africa to demand for climate justice).

 

2010:

  1. A youth from our network was selected to act as the EAST AFRICAN REGIONAL COORDINATOR FOR THE AFRICAN YOUTH INITIATIVE ON CLIMATE CHANGE (AYICC), the biggest youth movement in Africa working on climate change awareness and adaptation. The network has over 10,000 members across 42 African countries (2009-2012);

  2. 10/10/10 GLOBAL WORK PARTY CLIMATE ACTION organized in collaboration with 350.org.

 

2009:

  1. OCTOBER 24 INTERNATIONAL DAY OF CLIMATE ACTION organized in collaboration with 350.0rg;

  2. RWANDAN YOUTH MOBILIZATION AND PARTICIPATION AT THE UNFCCC CLIMATE CHANGE NEGOTIATIONS held in Copenhagen, Denmark (December 2009). Two members of our network participated in the international climate negotiations and they were supported by the Dutch Government;

  3. RWANDAN YOUTH PARTICIPATION IN THE GLOBAL YOUTH PANEL around Climate Change International Negotiations.
